Nechamah Drishner
My name is Nechamah Drishner and I have trained as a Specialist Wellness Counsellor. My practice is associated with the Association for Supportive Counsellors and Holistic Practitioners (ASCHP). I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Health Sciences and Social Services) in applied Psychology (UNISA), a Bachelor of Social Science Honours Psychology (UNISA) and a Bachelor of Social Science Honours Psychology Cum Laude SACAP (South African College of Applied Psychology). I have been counselling for Lifeline Johannesburg, a NPO (Non-profit Organization) for the past few years, as well as simultaneously counselling for the Vita Nova Counselling Centre in Pretoria, where I trained and interned. I have additionally trained in IFS (Internal Family Solutions), as well as DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy), which works wonders with my teenage clients. I however use many psychological modalities within my scope of work.

My most useful learning experiences have been brought about through the roles of wife, mother (to three children), daughter, sister and friend. I am passionate about counselling in a non-judgmental, empathetic, warm and trusting environment, as through my own journey I have learnt the absolute importance of a truly genuine counselling sphere. My goal through counselling is to enable my clients to access their true selves and through awareness live congruent lifestyles. It is my passion and a privilege to walk a journey alongside my clients and facilitate a growth process, through the activation of their own toolboxes. My scope of counselling interest is vast, whereby I aspire to give my all to my clients, by providing a safe, secure space to unlock their innermost challenges and make positive life choices.
What is Counselling?
Counsellors are trained to deal with a broad range of situations, helping people to resolve emotional, psychological and relationship issues.
People may be experiencing distressing and difficult events in their lives, such as bereavement, anxiety, sexual and racial issues, relationship difficulties, abuse, trauma and personal problem solving.

A counsellor will challenge clients to recognize patterns of thinking and behavior and help them to see issues more clearly from a different perspective.
